Spraypaint - Underbody
« on: November 19, 2013, 06:55:39 am »
Hi,

I want to respray the underbody of my '79 C10, no rubber sealing etc, just the normal matt black paint. I am from South Africa & got hold of the following Rustoleum product : Universal Flat Spray paint. (Flat black) Item code 245198. Is this any good ? I believe Rustoleum products are generally quite good. Could not get hold of any underbody spesific spraypaint in my area & bought 1 can but want some feedback before I start.

Please provide your views regarding this paint.

Thanks

in my opinion Rustoleum is a decent spray paint product. ive had good experiences with it in the past, but when it comes to spray paint prep is everything. even if you prep very decent it will start to come off eventually. i would go with a paint designed for undercoating.

After my cab repair I mostly used rustoleum flat black under the cab.  Some of it is three to four years old and still looks brand new.
