Well I flipt the rear today and all I can say is I'm less than impressed....

Luckily I heard here that DJM's flip kit may cause problems so I was prepared.

I had to weld an extra 1/8 inch piece of steel to each end of their flip kit brackets.

Thats four pieces that I had to add..... They need to do something about that so it's a simple bolt on ordeal.

All I can say is I did it....six hours welding and all.(trucks lookin good)

DJM needs to get it right for those who don't have a welder nor the steel to  get it right!!!

I was one of the guys that posted about DJM.....I forgot to state that the flip kit saddle has an offset locater hole for leaf pack. This is why I went with BellTech.....better quality and design.

HAHA, well I'm up  on their design... Also I've been fortunate enough to have as much as 600#+(bouncing) amount of people on my rear bumper (thanks for the holiday) and I'm goin for the 2" drop shackles too!! Without a frame notch. (Don't worry Ruler in hand) My exhaust will not be happy  

My rusty junk is still junk! I don''t know why I do this.

I am now haviing a hard problem seeing why a frame notch is neccessary (after a 5" drop) seeing that I'm going for 7" (total drop without frame notch) which I don't see any kind of problem with, unless my rear springs aren't stock for a half ton. I will still have easily 1" (600#'s bounced upon) before hitting the frame.

Keep in mind this suspension looks like an oringinal 77  stepside rusty a ss chicagoland salty junk. I'm suprized I haven't haad to replace more junk than I already have...

If you go with a flip kit (5" of drop or more)and you don't notch the frame it will hit the frame when you hit large bumps, guaranteed.  It will be occational, but it will happen.  If you ever load anything remotely heavy in the rear of the truck and then hit dips/bumps you are REALLY going to hit the rearend...  

You need more than 1" of clearance on the rear and 600# in the rear jumping up and down won't simulate hitting a large dip in the road.  7" of drop you are going to be hammering the rearend.

Just a note: anytime you build or modify a vehicle, you will spend money.....I don't suggest building anything unless money is planned on being spent. I have run into many problems over the years of parts not fitting correct, resulting in spending twice the amount, but that's the way it goes.

Neither my DJM kit  Thanks to you fellas, these forums, and my experiences I knew what to expect and how to take care of any problems that did arise. And had it done start to finish in less than a day with no trips for parts.

You guys are awsome and this site is as well.
