I'm looking for a transmission x-member that will work with headers and dual exhaust.

I did a few searches and didn't come up with any viable solutions or suggestion for my 1986 Chevy C-10 2WD.
I'm using LT headers and I don't want any exhaust pipe bends under/over the stock trans x-member.

I have found plenty of after market trans x-members for '63-'72 that will accommodate
headers & dual exhaust, but none for '73-'87.

I'm primarily looking for something similar to the links below, but for years '73-'87.
However if my only choice is buying one of these and performing minor cutting,
fabbing, and welding to "stretch" or "reduce" the x-member so be it.

I find it surprising that an aftermarket trans x-member is not readily available
for our '73-'87 trucks.

I know the 73-74 will work for what you are looking to do.  I am going to try a cross-member from a 1987 GMC 3500 that had the SM465 stick transmission that also looks like it should work the same way.

CPP makes the one you linked above.
Porterbuilt makes one http://www.porterbuiltfabrication.com/
Suicide doors makes one: http://thorbros.com/crossmembers/63-87-fullsize-chevy-transmission-crossmember

There are others, but this should give you what you need.
Many of the OLD design headers were made to point down and go under so make sure what you have will work.
