In the post I made it is labelled correctly and the information in the other post that I put is exactly the same.  The 73-78 is smooth.  The 79-80 has the lip.

Where are you seeing opposite?

edit Just for clarification the images I posted were for HOOD reference ONLY..

Maybe I am looking in the wrong area, I am looking at the front of the hood (that would touch you if you walked into the truck, and just in the very middle of the hood only right above the yellow Chevy emblem), right above the grill trim.

My 74 k10 (stock hood) has the ridge like the blue one, the grey one has no ridge, on the part of the hood that I described.
Like I said maybe I am looking at the wrong part of the hood, that is why I needed clarifying, and am confused about the 2 post.

From the factory 73-78 hoods were smooth acrosss the front.

1979-80 hoods had the raised bump in the front.

I thought I created this, but apparently not.  I will upload it ASAP

The 81-91 were the same.

The blue one show's the ridge, with the description above it From the factory 73-78 hoods were smooth acrosss the front.  , and the grey one does not show it and say's 1979-80 hoods had the raised bump in the front..
So am I off on how I am looking at this ?  Or am I looking at the wrong part of the hood ?

bake74, if you look closely, you can see that stamped lip on the front of the grey one.

Like I said, I must be looking at the wrong part because I don't see it.

Here, I annotated where you can see the lip stamped on the grey one.

Thanks, I will have to compare in real life, maybe one day I will come look at yours compared to mine.

i see what your saying you are thinking when we say raised lip its the center line of the hood. but the raised lip we're talking about is on the outside left and right of the face of the hood and since this part is raised it makes the face on the center line look smooth
