Radiator/ Trans Fluid Question
« on: January 23, 2014, 09:17:44 pm »
So today I replaced my radiator w/ new one. All went well, the question I do have is, how much Transmission fluid does the radiator hold?
My truck does have an external Trans cooler, as well as the lines going into the radiator.
Also, whats the best way to flush the system.  My truck is an 87 5.7 350 TBI w/AC 700R4 Trans.
Thanks in advance!!!

The radiator isn't going to hold a huge amount, just fill it up to the fill line on the dipstick.
Are you wanting to flush the Transmission or?

No Capt., I was just wondering about how much fluid is held in the radiator. I had to replace it w/ a new one. The trany was just replaced 3 months ago, so I don't want to take any chances on low fluid. After driving it about 25-30mi. I checked the trans fluid, it was good. Next up... Front wheel bearings & brake pads...someday I hope to get to the paint & interior!!!
Thank you for the reply, take care!!!!
