One Piece Hub and Rotor to a Two Piece, Can it be done?
« on: February 25, 2014, 10:17:27 pm »
Working on an 1985 K20 with the one piece rotor and hub assembly for the front wheel hubs.  Wondering if you can convert to the two piece so I don't have to disassemble the front wheel hub to work on the brakes.  So can I buy a hub assembly and a slip off rotor and just put them on.

I have swapped my rear axle to a 2001 and am trying to address the wheel lug stud issue as they are different threads.  It would be easier to find 14mm studs that only had to be pressed through a hub vs a hub and rotor.  Thanks for any advice.

Well, after talking to a mechanic who is in the know, it apparently can not be done without changing spindles and such.  Oh well.  Good news is I found a metric lug stud at Oreilly's that will work with the hub rotor combo so my front and rear lug nuts will match.  Problem solved.
