Love the pin stripping, cool idea for the switches too.

New badging from the wifey for my birthday this month. She sought help from a buddy of mine who is a service manager at the local Hendrick Chevy dealer. They ordered two "Silverado" door badges and two "2500 HD" badges. I married a good one fellas. And she listens to me when I ramble incessantly about projects like this.  I had no idea they were coming.

I went with the newer 2010 style font. But in order to pay tribute to the original style of the '87 badging I chose to cut them up a bit.

Some people might not like the modern font on an older truck but I think it looks fantastic. I had to cut the "Silverado" badge completely down to individual letters so I could shrink the spacing. Without doing that the first three letters were over the wheel opening.

"Silverado" GM part number= 15129652

"2500HD" GM part number= 1529644

Looks great! I was gonna do the same thing but with a twist. I was gonna get enough words and letters to spell "Cheyenne 20" and it would be placed on the doors just above where the top edge of the lower trim piece would sit. And on the tailgate, opposite the stamped Chevrolet, I'm gonna but "LTZ" because when I'm done the truck will be completely build as if it was top of the line luxury, like a brand new 2015 2500 truck. Also I'm planning on using all 2014-15 lettering.

I have some used "Silverado" sets if anyone is interested. They'll need new double sided tape or glue put on them.

I think 07-14 are the same letters. I had to paint a door on a 14' a few weeks back and  also do a door on an 07 and iirc our parts guy made a comment about them being the same ITEm in the system

I think you're right Winky. I spec'd 2010 simply because a friend's truck was sitting on the jobsite one day with the badging I was looking for. Since I knew he wouldn't mind if I looked, I opened his door and looked at the build date tag. That way when it came time to do this I had a model year to reference for the guy at the dealer's parts counter. His happened to be a '10. I mentioned all of this nonsense to the wife and she made it happen!

Yea I believe 07-14 is the same. 15 is a little different though. It's ok though, I work at a Chevy Dealership so I can shop and peek at whatever I want. Haha

Updating with a few new pictures. New front fender liners, wheels re painted, rid of their runflats that wouldn't balance, inside of the bed touched up (project posts), and a junkyard deal of the century $13 rear bumper finally!

Truck is filthy in these pictures if you look close enough.  ;)

Clean pictures to come. Then it's off to a seat install thread and a stereo/ door panel build thread!

That is a nice/tough looking truck you have there.

My pinstriper hand painted the letters in orange and then outlined them in lime green. He used Dupont hot hues catalyzed urethane striping paint. They seem to be pretty durable.
