well my electrical worries are over for the time being,i got my dashlights back by getting another light switch, and installing a couple of replacement bulbs,re-wired the bed with 1995 s 10 wiring harness, done a butload of grounds in my engine bay,the reverse light problem was fixed once i realized that the plug for the back up light switch was un-plugged.and my mystery toggle was solved after i looked at the roof of my truck and realized someone once had running lights on the roof.now i need to get into my instrument cluster and find out y my voltage, oil pressure and engine temp gauges arent working, ive been told its a connection issue.ill be getting to that soon.thanks everyone for the advice and ill be posting pics of my back in the holler find soon.

Those gauges should all have a common power  the current passes thru he gauge and then out to th sending unit where a variable amount is grounded to make the gauge move

Get the witig diagram for your year model and look at the back of the instrument panel.   On the printed circuit you should be able to see that all the gauges share a circuit
