Newbie

Evening all, I recently inherited a 79 Scottsdale (350 4X2). It was my Papaws. The man could fix just about anything. My dad didn't really have the itch to keep it up and running. It's been sitting out in the barn for a long while now and no one has touched it good long while.

I've never restored anything and I don't have lofty hopes of turning it into a show truck (yet) but I have a big garage I'm towing it into all the tools I'll need. So I'm hopeful that with a little help from some friends (y'all) and some good work ethic I'll have it running and on my way to making Papaw proud. I'm hoping that the 350 is a relatively easy motor to work on...

Sorry for getting long winded but can y'all point me to the "first step" threads here? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!!

Welcome from California.  First step would be pictures and what is wrong if you know, if not what you do know so we can throw some ideas your way.

Sounds good. Pictures will be up by the end of the weekend. It took me a minute to figure out the VIN decoding (CCL449A177728)

4x2 350-4V 5.7L - Not sure of the transmission

Very excited about finding this forum! :D
