Stock radio appears to not be working (78 Sierra)
« on: August 22, 2014, 06:10:59 pm »
Hey everybody,
My 78 Sierra has the stock radio and since my wife and I bought it, it has not worked. Is there anything worth checking before considering a new unit? All help is appreciated! Thanks everyone!

A few things to check.  Is the fuse good? Does it have speakers and an antenna hooked up.  I once bought a truck, early in my life, that had a factory radio and come to find out it was a radio delete truck, and it had no speakers

As zieg suggested, first make sure it is getting power, and that the power has somewhere to go in the way of speakers.  Then an antenna.  I would bet the fuse is blown or not there.
