choke/flooding
« on: October 10, 2014, 03:52:26 pm »
for the last year or so my electric choke light has been continuously on with no apparent issues whatsoever, until the last couple times where the light no longer comes on, and starting is now an issue, and is progressively getting worse.  starting, sometimes it sounds like i have an incredibly aggressive cam.  things were usually fine once its warmed up to operating temp.

today, trying to start the truck, i again had the incredibly lopy idle and had to keep somewhat on the fuel to keep it running at all.  i noticed a strong fuel odor that got so bad it was actually burning my eyes in the cab.  i removed the air cleaner and the 4 bbl. is soaked in fuel. i checked my line and dont see an issue there and made sure the plug that has to do with the elec. choke was plugged in.  thats about all i know.

where is a good place to start?  this is on my 85 k10 with a 350 and 4bbl.

dirty needle and seat?  as float comes up it shuts fuel off, if dirt is in there it might keep the float up and the fuel keeps going in and overflow.

This might sound like a choke pulloff issue.   Will comment further as time permits.
