74 K10 Brake Caliper Banjo Bolt - Help
« on: March 15, 2015, 04:20:35 pm »
I am restoring a 74 4wd k10 pickup and I just bought re-mfr. brake calipers from advanced auto.  I have a dana 44 front axle.  I have seen in different places that the banjo bolt or brake line bolt to the caliper is a 10mm if you are using the original calipers.  I have also seen people say that the re-mfr. calipers use a 7/16" bolt.  Does anyone know if what I have stated above is correct?  Also I ordered the bolts from   along with the brake hoses and the bolts are way to short and will not even begin to thread thru the large flange on the brake hose end into the caliper.  Non of the auto stores around here have anything other than a 3/8" x 1" long bolt.

Another question should there be a copper washer on the top and bottom of the brake line flange?

Where can i get the correct bolts and what is the correct size for a re-mfr brake caliper?  it seems like it wants to be at-least 1.25" long or 1.50" long.  Trying to get my break system bled but need these bolts.

Thanks
