Stupid esc

Hey everyone I know this is a dumb question but my 1984 k10 has a esc distributor can I replace it with a non esc distributor and just leave the esc plug unused? Will this effect anything important? Thanks for the help!!!

Yes, you can replace----or you could even use the existing ESC distributor with a few mods.  i just did it to one of mine.  Please see this thread:

Also, before the 305 quit/i overheated it, i used a non-esc dist in place of the esc and left the plug unused.  Didn't affect anything.
