Distributor Unplugged?
« on: February 23, 2015, 02:43:11 pm »
On my 86 K10 I've been fixing it up to get it back on the road. I haven't noticed any issue with how its been running. I decided to replace the cap, rotor, plugs and wires. When I removed the cap I noticed the four wire plug that comes out of the distributor and connects to the harness was unplugged.  After looking closer I noticed the green and black wires had been cut and crimped to each other. Is this some kind of bypass or temporary fix for something? Im trying to get this figured out before i put it all back together. Thank you!

It's pretty common for people to bypass the ESC distributors by bridging the green and black wires.  Here is some info on the ESC dizzy
