door alignment problem

ok this has been a problem since i bought my truck but i havent really minded much but i figured i might as well fix it if its an easy fix. ok the passenger side door lines up good on the top and all but under the chrome it sticks out about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch how can i fix it?

You say under the chrome? What chrome? Is there a molding? If it lines up every where except along the bottom, then the door probably needs to be moved in on the hinge. If it is all the way in on the hinges then a few other things come to mind. Do you live in an area that is prone to rust. One, is that someone might have installed a rocker panel up past the hinge mount area and the hinge is simply out to far off the cab. Two, maybey someone did some patch work on the bottom edge of the door and now it is built out.  

Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

its not rusted or anything i bought the truck out of tennesee and it has very little rust it probably just needs to be adjusted in like you said how would i do that? and the chrome i was refering to is the chrome trim that goes along the side of the body
