Iv got annoying rattles from outside the vehicle when I hit sharp ruts in The road. Noise happens when front suspension moves. A dip in the road that smoothly compresses the suspension will not make the rattle. Sounds very tinny especially if u compare it to say the sound the tailgate makes over bumps. At times it (or another noise) can also be felt in the drivers floor board. All noises coming from drives side from what I can tell.
Iv replaced both front shocks but didn't help. both front wheel bearings need to be adjusted but would that really cause the noise? Right lower ball joint has play but drivers side is tight.
My 85 made the same noise but for the life of me can't remember what it was.
