First off, it's not for sale!!!

At the risk of sounding catty...

1. If it's not for sale, then what does it matter?

2. It's worth whatever someone's willing to pay, as a whole or in part.
 or
3. It's worth whatever the insurance company is willing to pay in cash if it were to be totaled in an accident.  (depending on your state's motor vehicles definition, it's unlikely an '85 qualifies as a classic.....in which case refer to numbers 1 and 2 above)

From the looks of your original post, it sounds like the truck is a great find and worth a lot to you......so enjoy it and never mind its monetary value.

Bullet 1 2 and 3 are good points....  I will say this though.... I wanted to know the value of my truck after it's entire bumper to bumper build.... And now.... I really don't want to know its value, it was insane expensive to build and I'll never sell it. But say if I did , the value of 30k into the truck. If it came to an accident or all out total loss...... Yeah that won't be covered under insurance, not even close.... There may be members that might by chance be working or have worked for insurance companies. Others might be able to chime in. Say it's a total loss. Well the investment made into the truck will not be covered, it will be what it was "worth" to them Kelley blue book value etc... And then will cut the check to you in the event of an accident.... Knowing this trucks value might be a cool idea... But I completely agree with fxrsrider. Enjoy the truck. Don't worry about its value. It's value to you is the irreplaceableness of the truck. It was your grandfathers truck. So it's priceless....... There is no pricetag associated with a truck in my mind when it is either passed down or inherited by a family member to a family member... Anyways.... That was a thing I was once concerned about too.... Just let it go and enjoy that truck....
