Lights not working
« on: September 07, 2015, 11:18:07 am »
Hopefully this is an easy one for this group. I recently replace my high beam floor switch as it was totally burnt out and neither the low or high beams worked.  (My nighttime taillights and running lights did work). I replaced the floor switch and when I hit the button for the highbeams they work great.  The only problem is the low beams still do not work and now the taillights and running lights are out as well.  Any thoughts on what might have happened?  Did I get my wires mixed up when re crimping the terminals and inserts back into the switch housing?  Or maybe something as simple as a fuse?   note:  my brake lights and turn signals work fine so it is not a burnt out light.

For tail/running lights inop, check the 20-amp "T/L CTSY" fuse.  For low beams inop, probe for power at the low beam bulb sockets using a test light.  If there's power to the bulbs, verify good grounds then replace the bulbs.  No power to the bulbs, check that new dimmer switch.

In other words... if people learn by making mistakes, by now I should know just about everything!!!
