Inline 6 air cleaner pictures?
« on: November 03, 2015, 11:24:57 am »
I was wondering if, by any chance, there is anyone who has a 1977 with an inline 6 1bbl that still wears the original factory air cleaner on it? I was hoping for a picture of what it looks like. There were different styles over the years and my truck had this removed, along with all the vacuum lines, and is prone to hesitation/bogging during anything except gradual and light acceleration as a result.

Trying to figure our which of the styles were original to the truck, and hoping to find one for sale somewhere once I can confirm what it is I actually need.

Should look very similar to my 84 if I remember back.  This is the only picture I have and it probably has more vacuum hoses than the 77

If you still have the one off the 77 I'd appreciate it.

I have the one off one of my 84s, but, aside from being a 2bbl rather than a 1bbl hole there's what look like some kind of support reaching over the valve cover on this one too, as if part of the element actually reached back over the engine and rested there. In the daylight I'll try to get a picture of the mess that's there (and by mess I mean lack of all things that should be)

As promised, bracket/brace on the passenger side looks like it is intended to support the air cleaner ?
