So this happened a couple days ago ...
« on: June 12, 2016, 09:40:18 am »
Decided it was a nice day to drive the truck, and sure enough some 91 year old guy backs into me. "They put the gas and brake pedal too close to each other anymore" he says. No dude, you just shouldn't be driving.

So now, I have the estimate from their insurance company - $2214 for parts, paint, and labor. Haven't taken it to a shop yet to get my own estimates, but does anyone have any advice? Companies for parts, advice on painting, etc? I'm sure new paint will not match the rest of the truck, and it would be nice to have the whole thing done, so I'm going to ask them for two estimates - one with painting the whole thing, and one with just the bed side.

the rule that i remember is getting 3 quotes and then going with the cheapest one. but just like anything else most times you get what you pay for. 2k for that to me seams like a lot but who knows, i would even try to get a body shop friend to fix it for you and get the company to pay you the 2k
