84 K20 water leak at fresh air vent
« on: April 27, 2016, 05:47:33 pm »
Anyone see a problem with a little RTV sealer on my fresh air inlet (non-ac) passenger side. Just don't want to wait a week for a new gasket.  Figure some Teflon tape on the kick pannel screws too.

Thanks.

Only time I've ever had water coming in there is there was rust holes in under the windshield in the cowl area.
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

Anything is possible.  I do see the windshield coming out in my future.  I can see (dash pad out) what looks like water dripping where the gasket sits on the pinch weld.  I'm hoping for the best, but fear the worse.

I did see their was a TSB regarding water leaks in the kick panel on non AC trucks.  Mine does not have the drip rail extenders installed.

I HATE water leaks, spent a long time getting my 91 K5 water tight.
