grille/light bezel color
« on: June 30, 2016, 01:09:12 pm »
Can anyone tell me what the original color was for my grille and light bezels? It is an 83 Silverado. As far as I can tell, if what little is remaining is correct, it was a sort of silvery dark gray.

Thanks,
Jim

Silver, light gray.
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

The color is called Argent Silver. I think its the same as the rally wheel color. Check out VHT SP186. I haven't used it myself but might be worth looking at.

Ford called there stock wagon wheel color in the 80s / 90s argent as wheel. Don't rely on just the name. A smaller / older GM dealer should be able to provide you with a paint code if you are looking for color for a 100% restoration.
If its a driver you are just looking to paint similar color just find a good quality spray paint of a matching color by eye.
