I spent all afternoon trying to install my exhaust manifolds on my k10 350 with the @#$% heat shields. How the heck do you get those suckers on?
I tried putting the manifold on first I can get heat shields in place but then I can't get to the bolts on the front heat shields on either side. It looks like I'd have to loosen the motor mount and raise the engine to get a wrench on them. Maybe I should have installed that stuff before I dropped the engine in.
So I tried putting the heat shield on first but then the manifold won't fit around it because there isn't enough clearance between the heat shield and the frame.
There must be a trick... How important are those @#$% heat shields anyway?
