Blower motor
« on: January 25, 2017, 07:17:19 am »
Hello all. Finally getting around to trying to fix the heat in my truck. When i bought the truck the blower motor worked in all speeds. Now it doesnt work at all. Replaced the relay on the heater box and checked the wiring. Have not checked the switch on the dash yet. Anyone have any other ideas?

is the blower motor getting power? apply 12v to the spade on the back of the motor and see if the motor is still good

Just ran a jumper wire from batt to spade terminal. Does this mean the motor is shorted and needs replaced?

Not necessarily, it grounds through the screws that mount it to the firewall. It could be a bad ground.

It did not spin. Ran power and ground straight to battery. looks like blower is bad.

Fixed the issue. The blower motor was shorted and had a mouse nest in it

Nice and fix it without spending extra money on parts not needed
