What would I need to do to use a 2wd tranmission as a 4wd tranny with a NP 203 transfer case in a 1979 Jimmy

Since I don't know what tranny you are talking about, all i can say for sure is that you will need to replace the mainshaft (output) with a 4wd version.

The tranny is a 700-R4 and the transfer case in a NP203 that I am going to convert to a part time case

You are going to need an adapter of some kind and I don't know anyone that make it, you could try Advanced Adapters, but..... the NP203 was never offered with the 700R4.

The stock TH350 adapter may work for you.
