transfer case
« on: December 22, 2003, 11:09:00 PM »
I have a 85 K10. What type of transfer case should i have . It is 350 Auto. Also it is starting to leakso i think it needs a rebuild or something along those lines. How much is a fair price from a tranny shop for that type of work.

I would say that you should have a NP 208 which is an aluminum cased chain drive t-case.  I would estimate a rebuild of it to be around $800.  I doubt however that you need a rebuild of it, probably just a seal and gasket kit.

I must of missed where the labor charge for the rebuild is listed. Thats gotta make the prices higher.

Wouldnt worry about the labor costs. They are to easy to rebuild.
