Just cant find a speedometer cable!!!

I have a 79 chevy 4x4 long bed, with a 350 and the th-350.  Im in the process of redoing it while in school.  Ever sence i bought the truck the speedometer has never worked.  And its just getting on my nerves.  Ive talk talked to my mechanic and he said it might not be the cable but the device it attached to on the transmission.  I took a look and it was loose, like it got snaged on something.  Ive been to several junkyards and cant find anything.  Anybody have any ideas. Im really confussed.

what transfercase do you have or is it a 2-wheeler? i might have one, you can just have for the cost of shipping.

It is a np203.  But i think the cable is good, i might be the connector off that comes off the transmission.  If you have both that would be great, just in case that cable is messed up.

i have just the little box hanging off the side of the transfercase, Speed sensor if thats what you want to call it.i thought i have the cable yet, if i do still i cant find it. let me know if you want the sensor and i can have that in the mail by friday

Thats great, i'll get under and take another look around at it.  Is yours the np205?  But yeah I will tell you if i want it or not tomorrow.  What start are you located in?

it would be from the np203, i also have an extra sensor out of a 2wd th-350.

I'm located in Northern Wisconsin about 1 hour from St Paul MN

Yeah, i got up under it today and that speed sensor looks like it might have gotten snagged on something before i bought it.  But yeah if you post me back on how you want me to pay you and the shipping cost then i can ride around without worrying about speeding.
