I have searched for quite some time now and can't seem to find a definitive answer for this. I'm sure if anyone can tell me than it will be someone here!

I have a 78 2WD 3/4 ton CC that I am customizing as a tow vehicle for my boat. I want to install an ART coolride system in the front and have already ordered the kit for the 73-87 1/2 ton with hopes of it fitting on the 3/4 ton front end. In hindsight I think it was an expensive mistake. As far as I can tell, there are some differences in the C10 and C20 front suspensions. Can anyone here tell me what they are and how I could modify the 1/2 ton stuff to fit my truck? If the only answer is to use a 1/2 ton crossmember, than I think I will build my boat hauler out of a 77 1ton dually that I have as well. I was hoping to use the 3/4 ton to avoid the dual wheel look, but I see that ART has complete systems specifically for the 1ton truck. I am concerned about doing any major modification (changing to 1/2 ton Xmember) for safety reasons. I am a single Dad whom is usually packing around my three boys and their friends! If it is just a simple ball joint swap than I will proceed, otherwise I will be dragging out the old dually for this project!
