How much is it worth?
« on: June 30, 2007, 05:57:35 pm »
I know that this form is for 73-87 trucks but I thought I would ask anyway. I found a truck with the following specs:

Year - 1970
Make - GMC
Model - 1500 Custom
Motor - 350 w/ over 100k miles original
Trans - TH400 Not Original
Bed Type - Longbed Wideside

They say that the truck runs and drives fine, it has the original two tone paint, white top and red or orange body. It is a pretty solid truck that came form Kentucky, but it does have rot in the areas like the front fenders where the dirt and leafs etc, would sit, and also the bed sides. The floors are solid and it has factory A/C, it doesn't work but all of the components are there for it, it doesn't have the original radio. The inner fenders also have some holes in the inner fender.

What would you say it is worth?

I have a book (2001 edition) that says the following:

Parts truck - $500
Restorable Condition - $1,500
Good Condition - $2,550
Very Good Condition - $5,100
Fine Condition - $8,900
Excellent Condition - $16,700

Thanks

Well I'm from Kentucky and there has been some bad winters since 1970 (salt) so check the frame really good , as far as value I have no clue, nothing really jumps out as being valuable from your description , but then again what do I know.

The frame is good and it wasn't driven in the winter. There asking $3,000.00 for the truck.

Does it look like something you would pay that much for?  Without actually looking at the truck it would be hard to put a price on it, but in the end it is only worth as much as you are willing to pay for it.
