Installing single din CD player in 79 Scottsdale
« on: May 16, 2007, 04:19:02 pm »
What's the best method here?  Looks like some major cutting will have to take place.  I figure a cordless Sawzall would be best?  Wiring seems to be simple since I'll simply redo it, it's just getting an Alpine or someother CD player AM FM to fit.

Looks like what I'll really need is an airsaw.  I'll be working on this soon since the lack of tunes is driving me nuts.

Be really careful cutting the dash with any kind of reciprocating saw... ;D  if the teeth hang up, it'll shake the whole dash like mad and half disconnect the cluster and many other misc connections mounted to the dash.  i rough cut the hole in the dash bezel first and filed it out to where it needed to be( so the plastic didn't look all melted and would be neat), then put it back on and marked out the metal part of the dash using the bezel.
