Broke Trans Modulator bracket Bolt Head
« on: September 27, 2007, 07:39:05 PM »
76 K10 NP203 TH350.  Replacing Modulator and during removal of bolt (which is PITA due to Transfer case shift linkage being in the way).  Snapped head of bolt off.  Truck is undriveable.   >:( >:(

Question:  I have seen a "repair" bracket for this occurance, but where will it, and will it attach for a 4WD application???  The website I saw (transmissionparts.com) said it bolts to "extension shaft".  I'm going to call around to local shops tomorrow to see if they have this bracket.  Also, I am open to any other innovative solutions you guys might have.  The Modulator probably hasn't been removed since the truck has been built...

Thanks for the help....

YUP.  Small... like 2" mini C-Clamp worked well.  Never once had to re-tighten it over a 2 and a half year period of owning the truck.  Mine was a 78 K-10 TH350 NP203.
