Edelbrock headers

Anyone used those? I could have said Exhaust 101: Headers, LOL. Also, if I use those and want to have an O2 sensor for my own purposes, how does the air pump affect the readings? Thanks yo.

Those are "smog legal" headers....what year is your truck? Depending on your local laws, you're truck may be emissions law exempt. Mine is here in texas. It's a 79. You may not need those air pump tubes that are attached to those headers. Look for posts on here for headers. There's tons of info and experience.

Mine's an 84 and I only have one year left before I don't have it checked on the dyno (they don't do that in Travis, it's a idle speed test which my truck seemed to like better because the vacuum was high enough that the metering rods stayed sucked into the jets. Unfortunately for 84, I have every vacuum hose known to man and the law says I still have to have everything in place (isn't checked for functionality) but just there. I am in Harris County.

The air pump is going to put air in the exhaust, so it will probably have some effect.  What are you wanting to use it for?  An 84 shouldn't use and O2...

I want to be able to put am O2 sensor in there and read the output so I can get my air/fuel with something pretty close to right (like 14.7:1 at idle and 15.6 or so at cruise) for long engine life.

It shouldn't make that big a difference in my opinion, but I haven't testing this theory.
