Potential Deals
« on: January 23, 2008, 12:43:37 pm »
I saw these advertised locally from a few different sellers. The ad descriptions are exactly as they have posted them. I'm interested in a larger rad for my truck but the other stuff I'm listing piques my interest as well. Let me know if I should know anything beyond what they've posted (like if something won't fit my 81 GMC 2wd shorty). My own comments are surrounded by **. Thanks.

1st ad:
- 3.73 10 bolt axle set, complete and good brakes- $300    **My truck has a 12 bolt non-posi, but with 3.08s at best**

- Power Doors complete- $200    **I already have power doors, but if these are with good metal and nice interior panels, that's a good price**

2nd ad:
- Parts are from a 1977 full size chevy truck and are in used, but working condition:
3-core rebuilt radiator w/trans cooler-----$35      **Sounds like a nice deal. Should fit in mine?**

3rd ad:
- 12 bolt posi rearend with low gears 300obo out of a 76 gmc   **not sure if 'low' means numerically low, or high**

- long tube ceramic coated headers (lil surface rust) $170 obo   **far as I know, ceramic headers should have no rust, no?**

- -th350 tranny with a shift kit, short tail shaft (works good) $75  **my TH350 works fine, but that's cheap**

- -chevy four core rad $50   **what would this be out of?**

4th ad:
- 1986 TH700R4, 4 speed OD automatic, came from '86 astro, shifted fine behind 4.3 ($20)   **would this fit?** Is it worth to fit behind a 350 that'll probably be making around 350-375 HP?**

5th ad:
- Set of ceramic headers for a SB chevy $150   **pretty vague, who knows what they would fit**

6th ad:
- SBC roller rockers and push rods used, comp cams magnum series roller rockers 3/8" studs 1.60 ratio, also includes 5/16" 3 peice push rods with welded ends. I have less than 1000 kms on them like new used to break in engine.
$100.00 o.b.o    **I want to get some 1.6 roller rockers for my new heads and cam. New Magnum rockers can be had for $140 on Ebay I found out.**

85 Chevy Silverado C10 short, wide, yellow, 2wd. Lowered, 60-over 350 with Dart Iron Eagle heads and Comp Cams XE268 cam, TH350 w/ shift kit, 3.40 Gov-lok 12 bolt.

A 4 core radiator for $50 is cheap if it doesn't leak. Theres so much copper and aluminum in them that you can about get your money back from a recycler..I sold a 3 core radiator to the recycler about 3 months ago for $30, and it had a bullet hole in the middle.

That th350 for $75 is CHEAP, those are a good trans to have on hand if for no other reason than as a spare. About a year ago, I sold a 350c assembled from good but used parts to somone who needed a transmission "right now" for $250.
