Another newbie, '76 K10
« on: March 12, 2008, 03:14:50 pm »
I've been reading back-posts here for a few days, I just went ahead and signed up :)
I've got a fairly solid '76 K10 that my cousins' boy grenaded the engine in( no surprise, the TC is stuck in Lo-Loc )and the half-arse artist he had working on it managed to lose the engine accessories and hardware while it sat for a year >:(
A couple of mickey mouse artists had their hands on it before that, it's got several different years of mix-n-match parts on it and a *really* obnoxious paint job  :P
I've got a Craigslist 350 ready to go once I scrounge up some odds and ends, I'll be checking in with questions and pix as more horrors reveal themselves ;D

Welcome from New Hampshire. Good luck, I have been there a few times before. I especially like the put a new motor in and use two totally junk motor mounts. Thats how my 79 K30 was when I got it along with a trashed ring gear.
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

 ;D
I've been down this road before, the thing that's frustrating me now is that while I was off living in suburban heck for a few years *all* the good junkyards around here went away :-\
I've been beating my head against a wall trying to find somebody willing to sell me a matching set of brackets/pullys :-[
<snip rant about insurance companies and bunnyhuggers ruining everything>

Welcome!   Sounds like a project.  Well at least those guys had a purpose in life! (What would you do with all your free time if they hadn't pulled a kingsize hack job on that poor thing?)
