Seat
« on: February 19, 2006, 08:33:00 pm »
I just bought the seats out of a 2003 Chevy single cab pickup for my 76 for $130. I was wondering if any had pics of someone that had one installed. My father in law worked on a truck that had them but I dont remember how they were installed I was just wondering if anyone had any pics if anyone installed any?

I'm sure you will have to fab some brackets.

I picked them up at a wrecking yard. I had to chew them down from $160. The bomb is fixing to go back to my dads shop to fab the seats in and other things. Wasnt able to finish the whole truck because I had to drive it. Me and my brother test fit part of the seat in his truck to see where we stood and the passenger side was alittle high. The seat doesnt have the flip down console and is in 3 sections. So im debating on if just having buckets or fab in the jump seat for the family just in case. The best thing about the seats is that the belts are made into the seat.

I have leather seats (front buckets and third row) out of a 2002 tahoe mounted in my blazer. The blazer has flat floors so mine were easy to mount. The seatbelts in the seats are awesome especially in my case.

The rear seats were free. My buddy traded his tahoe in and kept the third seats. He told the dealer they were gone when he bought the truck. The front seats and console were outragous, but everything fits in the 74 just fine and looks awesome. So it was money well spent in my opinion.

Heres a link because I guess im not bright enough to get the urls to work.

briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/ch...ck&.view=l

The first pic is the first time about 7 or 8 years ago when I had it repainted the first time. I had to make them stationary because the tracks made them sit up to high. Then my speaker box kinda pushes my seat forward alittle which the gas and the brake take alittle more movement but im not uncomfortable at all. And also im sorry for my welding skill because it was the first time in along time I had to run a bead. The front foot I welded the piece of angle to the bottom so I could have a mounting point on the front.

How bad of an install was it? I've been looking at doing a swap in my 85 with a seat that has the fold down center console. I just haven't found a cheap enough seat yet.:\

In a pickup I could only see mounting them stationary in a pickup because the floor pan isnt flat like in a blazer. I had to fab brackets and I attached the jump seat to my tubing brackets. Just depends on how much time you wanna spend. Also you wanna use some flat strap on the bottom of the floor under the truck when you bolt it down.
