Rides like a bucking bronco

I put new Rancho 5000 shocks all around and even took two leaf springs out on both sides of the rear and the truck still rides like a bucking bronco.   Do I need better shocks or double shocks on each wheel?

Put the springs back like they were and take those RS 5000's back for a refund.
Pick up some store brand shocks for your truck.
Rancho makes some good shocks ! But the 5000's are not what you need for a 1/2 ton SWB.

Agreed with 5000s. Taking springs out is allot of work to try and make a truck thats built to ride like a truck, ride like a Caddy!
Don't put double shocks in unless you want a worse ride. If two shocks are to stiff why would four be better? Only way you want more than two shocks is if you order special shocks with 1/2 or less the valving of the OEM ones. I have had good luck with Monroes, Gabriel, Napa brands.

I thought it needed more rebound dampening to control the bouncing.

Is it bouncing long after the truck hits a bump. Like 50 or 100 feet down the road? Or is it a harsh ride? I am thinking you are calling a harsh ride bouncing? I would tend to doubt it is bouncing if you have brand new shocks. Even the wrong application shock will be better than worn out ones. The 5000s are overkill is all, a good set of stock application heavy duty shocks are fine for a driver mild trail rig.
(1) Its a truck, the best riding truck is a half ton, long bed, 2 wheel drive. Even they ride like a truck. A short bed 4x4 is going to be a harsh ride no mater what you do to it. The problem with taking springs out is you affect load capacity, handling, ride height, etc.
(2) More shocks doesn't mean it rides better. In fact doubling up shocks will make it ride worse unless you put two shocks each with half or less the valving of the stock replacement single shock.
