I currently have an 87 SWB with a stock 350. Up until a week ago it had the stock exhaust. Last week the short 12" of pipe between the cat and the muffler gave way. I then noticed that pretty much everything past that to the tailpipe was rotted as well....
To try and save a few bucks replaced the piece behind that cat..... and well i clamped on a dump piece of pipe and removed the muffler and tailpipe. So now the exhaust stops well before the rear axle.
The truck sounds really good right now because the only piece to deaden the sound is the cat....
My question is this.... Did I do any harm by this... i don't drive the truck often probably once a week if that from March until November (I have a bike) But I am concerned i might mess up the motor by not having much backpressure... I hope i did not confuse anyone and would appreciate any thoughts your guys would have....
Or maybe I am just being to cautious and some may say... let her rip hahaha

Thanks
Mike
