350 trans rebuild kit
« on: October 26, 2010, 01:10:54 am »
Can anybody reccomend a nice rebuild kit for a th350? Mine seems like its going out. Truck has to be really warmed up for it to kick into reverse and not so much for drive. Both no matter how much throttle I give, if not warmed up will not budge the truck an inch! Working on a LQ swap and the trans has got the back burner, but I know its going to need a rebuild. Was running strong until the cold weather kicked in. I've seen lots of kits but not sure what would be best or worth it. Thanks in advance

Thats the first thing I checked. Last winter when it wasn't running the trans bled out all over. When I finally got it running I didn't check the fluids and got stuck @ work! Only a a block away though, small town west texas! I've made it a habit to check every week. A little much, but my overflow tank was cracked so I had to check rad. fluid anyways. Now its fixed I'm just in the habit.

I'd start with a flush myself. I've always used Transtar kits with good success. Never rebuilt a domestic trans though.
