83 K10 s/b project
« on: January 07, 2008, 05:58:03 pm »
Ok I finally got some pics of the truck I've been working on for my son. I bought it about a year ago not running and no bed oh and it came with alot of extra rust no extra charge. I've already replaced the inner/outer rockers, cab supports, cab corners, and floor sections. I found a bed for $100.00 rt side in great shape filled the fuel door opening still need a left side to much damage to repair. I plan on giving it a 6" lift w/35" tires can't leave it stock. bought a complete interior trim for $20.00 with headliner sweet deal I'll get more pics as we go.

Sorry, it's got a 350 w/700r4 didn't run when we got it did tune up put 600 edelbrock and intake it really just had bad gas and old q-jet is why it wouldn't run I figured he could run that motor till he kills it then we'll do something else maybe by then he'll be ready to fit more of the bill for that one.

Thanks he is pretty awesome but don't think I'am the type to just hand it to him he does anything you ask of him and no trouble or drama and I like the idea of him having something that if he has money I don't have to worry about him blowing it on stuff to get him in trouble. He saves and dreams of things for his truck.

Great project.  Mine started out as a father and son project (for him).  A year later, I'm left finishing it and footing the bill.  I've got too much in it to quit.  Besides, it's quite addictive.

What he doesn't know, is I'm going to finish it and give it to him as a present.  He was awarded a four year army scholarship to a small EXPENSIVE college that he worked his but off for.  He saved his mother and I a TON of money.

Anyway, looking good.  Keep us posted.

well, that's mighty awesome of you to still give him the truck despite him leaving it "in your lap".  you know this addiction doesn't go away, right?  you will have to go get you one now, and start over again...rinse, lather, repeat... ::)

That's funny, I was thinking the very same thing.  I've already warned my wife. ;D

I love father son projects :)

My son and I are rebuilding his Blazer (still not sure how this works I pay for every part and he gets  a vocabulary lesson when I wrap my knuckles)

I need to replace the whole floor from the tailgate forward still not sure on the floor supports  :)

Xmas break we are suppose to make it a stick from a automatic  he will get to use the grinder :)
