Billet Interior Trim
« on: December 20, 2008, 09:24:03 pm »
I was wondering if the right dash trim off of a 77 would fit my 84. I know there is some difference in the dashes but this trim looks like it would fit both dashes.

I think they changed the design of the dash/trim from about 1980 and later.  I was debating on buying a billeted one after refurbishing the used dash I bought off of Ebay.  However in the end, I just did a little extra detailing of the original one.  If you look carefully, you can see that the trim actually curves at the end to fit the contours of the dash.

Good luck!

As GB stated, the dash pieces changed with the upgraded body styling so it won't work/look right...  There is However a similar piece for the later dash design though, so I would contact whoever you found that dash piece, and just ask them if they carry or can get ahold of the one you really want.....

Great Looking Dash BTW GB 8) Wouldn't mind updating my interior to the newer panels.... ;D

Thanks Dragon.

Another suggestion, if your supplier doesn't stock the right one then try searching on this site or look on Ebay.

Good luck.

I found one on ebay out of a 77 its got a pretty good price on it thats why I asked. I knew they changed the pads but I was hoping the trim would still work.

Well they are out there for around $50+ S/H, I would send you the link or post the info, but it is a Site Chris asked us not to post any info for(Completely understandable, as they don't Advertise here, and given Chris' & Others experience with them as well)....

I'm sure they are readily available through any of the Larger Well Stocked Aftermarket Suppliers

I didn't see them in the online catalog. I am not really ready for one but I thought if I could get the one I found on ebay cheap I would get it. It didnt work out, it wouldn't fit and it sold for $51 including shipping.  That was more than I would have paid anyway, when the new ones aren't much higher.

If you need it for a 81-91, and it is still availible I can get it from GM.  If you do want me to check, email me as I won't be checking the forums much over Christmas.
