OK, the block I believe is a 1993 truck block, so here's what I'm thinking. I could go 383 but I want this to be a fuel efficient truck for long term so. . . . .:

Would that be a good cam with vortec heads? I'm looking for like smooth idle but some decent power. Do I need new valve springs? I've got the stock ones on there now.

I'd still have to buy some parts like gasket set and stuff. If I can get by with a crank polish than I will. I'm going to check with my former boss tomorrow to see if he's placed his order with Eagle. I need new rods anyway, so I may just do the stroker thing. That price'll be hard to beat.
