Crate motor casting numbers

The motor in my 85 is supposed to be a crate motor. The casting in the normal area (behind the drivers side head) reads GM50LG which isn't a normal casting number. Does this just mean that it's a GM crate 5.0 liter? If so, what does the LG stand for? Thanks

Yes that is a 5.0L
