Fuel pump selection
« on: June 25, 2009, 12:48:42 pm »
I have a question about fuel pumps. I recently bought a 78 k10 with a 350 4 barrel out of a 74 Pontiac as I was told, but the fuel pump quit workin on me. It seems strong but thinking it is mostly stock with a 700r4 transmission. It has HEI which I want to upgrade next but first things first. It has an Edelbrock intake and carb. I would like to dress it up a little and upgrade it but would it pay in this area? I was thinking Edelbrock or Carter but don't want to get one with to much GPH and I can't seem to find much info on GPH or what it was stock. Should I just go to Napa and get one there and stay with the stock look? I understand i can mess things up if I go to big. Eventually I would like to go with a Q-jet down the road. Any thoughts? I'll try to get some pics up in a week or so.

You asked a lot of questions but if you are wanting a new pump, just get a stock one.
