Can anyone tell me if the holes in the panels

Anyone know if the circular hole that is for the manual windows in the '87 door panels, is in the same place as the square hole
would be
, if it were power windows instead? Not going to post links to outside vendors as that is against the rules here but I found someone selling some new factory GM panels that are correctly embossed for the silverado trim level. I would have bought the coverlay ones (as I am familiar with coverlay's quality and it's good) but they do not sell them for the silverado trim package. Only problem is, these panels are only sold with no holes for the power windows or locks, only one circular hole for the manual windows. So im sure you have guessed my idea by now. Simply cut the holes, though the back. I just need to be sure that the hole that is already cut, is in the same place. Anyone know if it is? Cause if so I will just make the circle into a square, and just cut another square right next to it for the power lock switch. And wam bam I finally got new panels that will fit my truck.

If they are aftermarket Placo panels, they are crap, which is the only aftermarket panel that accepts the Silverado trim. I can get them for you, but I would never put a set on any of my trucks which is why you don't see them online, they are thin and flimsy and contrary to advertising, they are NOT colored, they are painted.
If you have power windows you can make them work in the manual hole.

No they are not palco, I confirmed this with the seller. They are original GM panels. So the circular hole
is in fact
in the same exact place as the square hole
would be
? I know you can make stuff like that work, but I want it to look stock if I can, after the alterations.

Guess nobody knows that one for sure. Oh well i'll just send em back if it don't work out. And if I find out for sure that it will have the desired outcome, then I will post up so everyone will know.

If you are looking for them to be in the EXACT location, the answer is no.
If you are wondering if you can make them LOOK factory, you can come close, just cut another square closer to the handle and put the power switch there.

Ok thanks Capt, but the panels I was referring to were actually for an 87. Those look like the 70's models. So it could be different.

those are 77 model, which have the same placement as all the 81-87 trucks.

Hmm, do you happen to know if the side pouches will interchange? You know, those little map pocket things? Looks like the mounting holes for them might be in the same spot. If so, I may end up just buying some 70's panels. Make things easier on me that way. They look just as good as the 80's door panels, IMO.

I am going to be making my own out of today's modern vinyl. Got family in the upholstery business and they got some industrial sewing machines, and a ton of vinyl samples. I been looking at the samples and they make some vinyl these days that you can't tell apart from the leather samples. So im hoping it will make it pretty easy, and it should be pretty cheap since they get a big bulk discount cause they always order so much. I will post up how it goes, so anyone who might want to can imitate the results. After taking a look at the stockers, GM pretty much already lined out the pattern for me. The reason is, all the e-tailers think they need to get $70-80 bucks for this, and that's ridiculous for some folded vinyl with some stitches in it.
