315/35/20 Will they fit?
« on: September 08, 2009, 08:08:45 pm »
Hey.  After 2 years on my project 86 short wide project, I am ready to buy my rims and tires.  I want to run 285/40/20 on the front with 20x8.5 rims and run 315/35/20 on the rear with 20x10 wheels.  My question is, will these wheels fit.  My truck is lowered 3" in the front and 5" in the rear.  Thanks for the help.
If you drive North far enough, you will end up going South.  If you drive West, you will always be going West.

Depending on the actual drop, yes they should fit.

Irish_Alley,
His rear tire size is wider and taller than the front. The first three digits is the width of the tire in mm. So the front tires are 285mm and the rears are 315mm. The second set of numbers depicts the sidewall height, so the front tires have a sidewall height that is 40% of 285mm, and the rear sidewall height is 35% of 315mm. Since the wheel diameters are the same front and rear, the rear tires will actually be taller than the front.

REVINKEVIN,
Unfortunately I cant say if those sizes will fit with a lowered truck. A lot of that will depend on the offsets that you choose.
