Problem with Dakota Digital
« on: November 11, 2009, 10:02:56 pm »
My gages blink in and out while driving and the other day it flashed then when it came back (maybe 1 second) the speed read 295mph the tack read 10.?? something, fuel was blinking at 00 temp was blinking but was at norm. about 198 volts and oil pressure stayed normal did not blink. not the odometer reads 409100 . I stooped switched everything off and restarted the truck and everything works OK but gages still flash in and out and the odometer reads 409100 something now. I have it grounded the same place my in-line fuel pump is located and grounded. To the frame right below the passenger side door.

I would check the ground first being that it sounds like it effects all guages. I don't know what i would check after that; maybe a phone call to dakota.

I would suspect your ground and probably move it.

That is in deed what it was, but my fuel pump quit today and i coasted to a parking lot changed it out and cleaned the ground wires up and all works great. I just wish my odometer didn't read 409thousand + miles now. But everything works for now.

I think Dakota can help with the wrong mileage.  I haven't ever had to do that.
