Belltech flip kit question

I am installing a belltech flip kit on my 87 GMC SWB and after reading the directions and using the supplied template the notch is not centered over the rear axle. Is the notch supposed to be centered or offset a little?

The Belltech supplied axle saddle will have an offset hole for the spring pack centering bolt to fit into. The instructions say to install the axle saddle with this alignment hole toward the front of the truck. This effectively moves the axle forward an inch or so, aligning the axle under the notch.
