Cab swap Question
« on: November 21, 2009, 03:36:43 pm »
I bought a 78 3/4 ton 4x4 that has a bad body, totally shot. So I bought a cab and bed off of an 84 chevy 1/2ton 2wd that I want to put on the older frame. Other than cutting a whole in the floor for the 4wd shifter what else should I expect? What body bushings do I use, should I save the frame mounts from the 84?? Any help would be great. I know I am probably not the only one to try this.

The frame bushing follows the year of the frame
Dont have to but if you are using the 78 front end can cover the holes for the hood hinge that the 84 uses
the experts will tell ya so more

You will need to swap in the whole center hump, not just a cut a hole in the floor for the shifter.
Use cab mounts for the frame year.
