hello all im glad to have found this site, it has tons of useful information on it.. i have one question that i couldnt find the answer for in here so i thought id ask. i have a '77 chevy c10 with a new goodwrench 350 new 350 turbo tranny and a 340 ratio 12 bolt rear axle my question is that my carrier bearing is going out and i have a straight shaft out of an '86 with the same set up that im parting out... im was wondering if the straight shaft would be less horsepower robbing and lighter than the origional 2 piece shaft and if its worth swapping...any info would be appreciated, thankyou

I was always told that the two piece driveshafts are noisier. I would upgrade to a one piece, as theres less U-Joints to replace and service. Just my opinion.

All normal practicality and rational money handling goes out of the window when it comes to my truck.

i don't know about power robbers but i would put the one piece in since it would just be cheaper in joints like Layne said, also might as well changed them now
