Got a little snow
« on: February 12, 2010, 06:51:42 pm »
Finally got more than a tease of snow.  like 4 inches in 4 hours.   so of coarse I went driving.   Took 10 minutes to get to home depot, took close to 2 hours to get home.  just had lots of detours (read stupidity)  It really was like a bugs bunny cartoon coming home.  normally I'd have been extremely ill about it, but this was so funny (read dangerous).  I passed so many people that were like 250ft up in someones yard.  i also got passed by 3 seperate people who all wrecked while trying to get back in the lane.  I must say though I am impressed with the Goodyear wrangler TD's i have.  It all iced up pretty fast and I never had a problem.  I think i slid like a foot or less once.  and I ended up going over every road I didn't want to because of the crazy hills.  I had no problems.  I just love how georgians try to drive like normal on ice.  I had one guy, i couldn't see his hood in my rear view and had to "talk" to him when we stopped to get him to back off.  otherwise it was an entertaining drive.  there was this one big hill and everybody was bumper to bumper stopped.  i waited at the bottom to get some momentum and about 5 passed me and 3 of em ditched.  the most hillarious part was when all the people stopped on the hill tried to get going at one time.  think sycronized swimming for cars.  it was so funny.  some of it was the fools in 4x4's passing people by like double speed.  they found out 4x4 doesnt mean anything when you lack driving skills.  I was in awe though at how many people were riding bumper like when it's dry. ???

all the pics of people doing stupid crap didnt turn out good (i was watching the road)  but here's a few a n hour or so before things got so funny.

Let's Do this

Before it got bad

I made it back!  who knew.

I had been out in the car but came to get the truck when it started snowing.  glad i did the car wouldn't have made it, but it does need tires.

The truck brought me home safely once again.  and I am impressed with the tires, 5 stars in snowy slush.  I still left it up on the gravel though, the concrete pads slick and what goes with a safe trip home like plowing into your own house?  ;D

Bummer you guys are getting hit.  We had ours early Mon and Tue, about 14 inches in total.  We are used to it so no big deal.  It was beautiful blue skies today in Chicagoland and about 30 degrees.  Nice pictures.  Thanks for sharing
